Chip Chats is published by the National Woodcarvers Association. This magazine features articles from clubs around the world, patterns, show news, and resources.

WOOD Magazine Online is the online version of the Better Homes and Gardens publication. It features patterns, resources, and articles for woodcarvers and woodworkers. Wonderful resource site!

WWWoodc@rver E-zine is the first online woodcarving only magazine. It contains feature articles and comments from carvers worldwide.

DECOY MAGAZINE is the ultimate source for decoy collectors!

This section includes carving supply houses and tool and supply vendors. While we have not used products from all, they all come highly recommended.

Smoky Mountain Woodcarvers Supply offers classes and online catalog of their carving supplies.

CraftWoods offers a catalog of their carving supplies and books.

Rossiter Ruff-outs Over 500 different rough-outs designed by some of the best artists in the world, are available for the professional, the amateur and everyone in between. Videos, teaching aids, and chip carving plates included in catalog. Custom duplicating is available for instructors, dealers, or carvers doing multiple numbers.

PJL Enterprises features professional wood carving tools, at novice prices. They handle the Optima and Ultima tools and the Safe Air Dust Collection Systems.  This site also contains some great carving tips and techniques.

Carving Clubs & Guilds

This section includes a few clubs, guilds, or related organizations. These should help you locate a club in your area.

The NWCA (National Woodcarvers Association) is online and publishes Chip Chats six times a year. This mag features articles from clubs around the world, patterns, show news, and resources.  This is a good investment of $11.00 (USD).

New England Woodcarver's Website provides general carving information and specific information about carving in the NE United States. Visit this site!

Michael Parker's Knife Cut provides an alpahetical listing of carving clubs and guilds by state or province.

The Southeast Carver - The Southeastern Wood Carvers Association links woodcarvers and woodcarving organization in ten southeastern states.


Carving Classes & Schools

This section includes a few places to take a carving class. Visit the VENDORs and CARVERs section. Some of the carvers and supply houses offer instruction.

John C. Campbell Folk School provides a variety of carving classes in Brasstown, NC. This beautiful facility is nestled in the Southern Highlands of the Great Smokey Mountains.

Tennessee Valley Woodcarving School offers several schools each year at 4-H camps in Grossville and Greenville, TN. Three-day classes, on various levels and subjects, are offered.


Montgomery

This section includes a few links in and around Montgomery, Alabama.

Museum of Fine Arts: The Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts, the oldest fine arts museum in Alabama, was established in 1930. Located next door to the Shakespeare Festival in the Wynton M. Blount Cultural Park.

The Alabama Shakespeare Festival: As the State Theatre of Alabama, the Festival serves as a major educational resource and lifelong learning center for the Southeast's citizens, from school children through adults, with publications, SchoolFest, and other educational programs. These efforts develop our capacity for language, thought, and imagination-vital skills for all areas of our lives.
